Free Childrens’ Books
Book Giving Program & Family Literacy Activities
Research shows that the more children read, the better readers they become.
What is NdCAD’s Book Giving Program & Family Literacy Activities?
Our Book Giving Program provides free books to children ages 0-21 on a weekly basis. The concept is simple, but the impact is significant. Every Saturday from 12 noon to 2 pm, parents or guardians bring children to our Family Education Center where each child selects books that they get to keep. All books are donated by caring members of the community.
The goal of the program is to help children succeed in
life through a recognition for the importance of reading
In addition to children receiving free books, families and community members participate in fun literacy activities like storytelling. The program provides valuable opportunities for families to connect with each other in the spirit of community.
Visit our Family Education Center and make it a regular part of your weekend activities.
